Switching is easier than you think
Plenty of business owners stay with an accountant or bookkeeper who is not really serving them, because switching feels like hassle and an awkward conversation. In reality, you say yes once and we do the rest.
How the handover works
- You decide, we start
After an initial consultation and a fixed fee agreed in advance, you simply confirm you would like to move. That is the only decision you need to make.
- We contact your current accountant
With your permission, we write to them requesting professional clearance and your records. This is a routine, courteous exchange that happens between practices all the time. There is no awkward conversation for you to have.
- Your records transfer
Accounts, tax records and access to your software come across to us. We review everything as it arrives, so any loose ends from the old arrangement are spotted early rather than at the next deadline.
- We take over with HMRC
We register as your agent with HMRC so correspondence and filings route through us. From that point, your only job is running your business.
When is the right time to switch?
Any time. A year-end changeover is marginally tidier, but waiting for one usually just means another year of the same frustrations. Mid-year handovers are routine work for us; the records simply transfer with year-to-date figures intact.

Switching questions
Will switching upset my current accountant?
Professional clearance is an everyday courtesy between practices, not a confrontation. Your current accountant deals with these requests routinely, and you never have to make the phone call yourself.
Will anything get missed during the handover?
The handover follows a checklist: records, filings, deadlines and software access are all confirmed before we consider it complete. We review what arrives, so gaps in the old records surface at handover rather than at a filing deadline.
What do you need from me?
Your current accountant's details, permission for us to contact them, and access to your accounting software if you use one. The rest is our job.
